Kids in Business activitiesArmada of Hope Boat Race

Each year, KIDS IN BUSINESS® students, representatives from local charities, and members of the downtown business community gather at the Fountain at PSE&G Plaza in Newark, New Jersey, for a one-of-a-kind regatta designed to promote community awareness and social conscience. The Armada of Hope event is not only a festive and unique annual opportunity for participating organizations to generate support and funding, but it is also a valuable opportunity for students to contribute to and interact directly with charitable organizations that assist the local community. Participating organizations are encouraged to find ways to use the event to facilitate their own fundraising and promotional objectives.

Annual Convention and Art Exposition

The KIDS IN BUSINESS® Convention and Art Exposition provides an annual opportunity for participating schools, non-profits, businesses, and programs to gather in one place and showcase their achievements. New products and other creative work developed by the young entrepreneurs are on display, and the event features the formal presentation of charitable donations to affiliated non-profits. The Sheila C. Williamson Ambassador Extraordinaire award, an honor bestowed to a person or people whose actions have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to humanity, is also presented at the Convention.

Annual Art Auction and College Scholarship Fund

Kids in Business Annual Art Auction and College Scholarship FundOne of KIDS IN BUSINESS's® most popular annual events, the Art Auction showcases artwork produced by the students throughout the year, and raises funds for KIDS IN BUSINESS® Scholarships. Community partnerships are an essential component of the Auction's success, as local businesses and organizations assist with the preparation and attend as guests. KIDS IN BUSINESS®, Inc. underwrites all of the expenses associated with conducting the Auction.

The KIDS IN BUSINESS® Scholarship Fund was established to offer financial support for students who decide to pursue a college education. One hundred percent of the profits earned by the Annual Art Auction are contributed to the Scholarship fund, which currently exceeds $100,000.

Scholarships are awarded according to very specific guidelines, which have been structured to serve as an incentive for academic excellence. When a student is accepted into a college program, he or she receives an initial award. At the end of each school year, with the submission of grades, additional funds are awarded, based on overall grade point average.
